Awake while it works, asleep when it’s done
Most keep-awake apps have one setting: on. Hushtop’s has a reason: a build, a download, a Claude Code or Codex session that is still running. When the reason is gone, your Mac sleeps again.

The problem with “on”
You start an agent at 10 PM, close the lid, and go to bed. With a plain caffeine-style app the Mac is still awake at 7 AM, warm, on 12% battery, long after the agent finished at 10:40. Without one, the agent stopped the moment the lid closed. Neither is what you meant.
What Hushtop does instead
- Automatic mode watches your agents and builds. While one is running, the Mac stays awake, lid closed included. Three minutes after the last one exits, Hushtop lets go and the Mac sleeps on its own.
- Limits you set: a battery floor, a temperature ceiling and a longest run (up to 8 hours with the lid closed). Hit any of them and it stops holding the Mac awake.
- A closed-lid helper keeps those rules even if Hushtop itself quits, so a crash can’t leave your laptop cooking in a bag.
- Manual mode is there too, for the cases where you just want it awake for an hour.
Step away
⌃⌥⌘L locks the Mac and keeps the work running. While you’re away, the lid is set to sleep when the work is done, whatever your usual setting, and alerts can follow you to your iPhone through iCloud Reminders or your own Telegram bot. When you’re back, one card says how long you were gone, what the battery did, and what happened.
Which agents count
Claude Code and Codex with their hooks connected report start and finish exactly, so the release is exact too. Builds and long commands count while they run.

What if Hushtop crashes?
A small closed-lid helper keeps your battery, heat and time limits even if Hushtop itself quits.
