No. Hushtop is a native Swift app. When nothing’s happening it mostly sleeps; it wakes for your music, meetings and agents, then settles again.
Yes. On a display without a notch, Hushtop shows a small floating island at the top of the screen instead. You can turn it off in Settings.
Yes. The notch grows to show what’s happening, then tucks back: the song and its lyrics, your next meeting, AirPods, a timer, your Claude Code and Codex agents, dev servers, and keeping your Mac awake.
Spotify, Apple Music and music playing in a browser tab. Synced lyrics are optional: they come from LRCLIB once you turn them on, and are saved on your Mac.
Claude Code and Codex: live sessions, usage and limits. Claude limits come from Claude Code’s status line; reading them from your Anthropic account is optional and off by default.
No analytics and no telemetry. To check your license, Hushtop sends only your license key, an anonymous Mac ID and its version; the privacy policy lists exactly what. Your data stays in your Library folder and secrets in the Keychain. Features that need the internet stay off until you turn them on or pick a setup that uses them: the Everyday setup turns on weather, from Open-Meteo, and you can turn it off in Settings. Feedback you send, and an email if you add one, is kept on our server so we can answer it.
