Lyrics that keep up with the song

How it works

• Hushtop reads what’s playing from macOS, so Spotify, Apple Music and a YouTube or SoundCloud tab all count.
• Lyrics come from LRCLIB, an open lyrics database, matched by title, artist and length. When there’s no synced version, you get the plain text; when there’s nothing, the panel just shows the player.
• The current line sits in the notch at the small size; the full lyrics scroll at the large size. Three player sizes, your pick.

Off until you say so

Lyrics are the one music feature that needs a network call, so they’re off by default. Turn them on in Settings › Music and that call is the only thing Hushtop ever sends about your music. No account, no listening history anywhere.

Compared with lyrics-only apps

Apps like Lyricly or SpotifyLyrics do one thing well and some are free. Hushtop’s lyrics are one part of a notch app that also shows meetings, AirPods, a file shelf, clipboard history and your coding agents, so it makes sense if you’d use two or three of those. If you only want lyrics, start with a lyrics-only app.
